Sometimes you get the chance to sit back and just look around. The world your live in can busy itself around while you take a few moments to just admire the view.
It was on one such moment in the back of a taxi, that was passing by a pub in Greenwich. I recognised it and suddenly recalled it was where I had enjoyed a jug (or two) of Pimms with a friend after seeing the dressage at the London Olympics. Realising where I was I looked out to see if I could recall how the venue had looked back then with the arena. Looking up passes the arcade up to the Observatory, something wonderful hit me.
The horses as they entered the arena at A, making their way down the centre line were probably coming along the Meridian Line! How many times will you get to say that you’ve ridden along longitude 0.00.
Whether that’s true or not, who knows. But I like to think it’s a little bit of extra detail they put into it.
