13 weeks after the break (almost to the minute) and it’s good to see how much progress is being made.
I’m still not walking, but I can gently make my way out and about. In fact today walking a whole 2,872 steps, covering nearly 2 km. Sadly not in one go but I can go about 7 minutes. Where I’d usually be covering 10km in about 12,000 steps a day, this feels like a minor effort. However, anyone who’s been on crutches knows this is an epic trip.
I’m trying to prep myself for heading out to New York in March. Like some kind of training for a marathon, I want to be able to walk for 10 or 15 minutes easily. Or should I aim further.

The other amusing changes are that I’m no longer window shopping fancy stilettos but now “magnetic ankle wrap” and “crutches gel hand pads”. Ok, maybe some stilettos but it’s all to help focus the healing.
Here’s to helping the focus over the next 4 weeks.
