When you decide to write a post every day you get an insight into how many journalists must feel. Although many will have assignments, there are many days where space just needs to be filled. Over a quarter of our time is now spent online. We’re consuming more than ever (even though we’re reading less books). It’s getting harder to keep the attention of others in a noisy environment.
Content that is king
Good writing makes for good reading. Sounds obvious but isn’t as easy as it appears. Even for talented writers. Being in marketing, I rarely deal with more than 500 words and usually it’s all about the 140 characters. I know though that a quality content can do a huge amount for a brand or service or product.
Creating something out of nothing
Each time I put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), I’m turning a post about nothing into a random musing. Stimulating more ideas. Creating a post worth engagement. Learning to write well is one thing. Learning to write about something others want to read? A whole other story.
